Frequently asked questions
Select a question below to view the answer. Select the question again to hide it.
Does switching kits affect processing, billing, or delivery?
No. Switching kits only changes which kit you’re viewing. It doesn’t affect processing, billing, shipping, or delivery of your kit or its digitized files.
Why don’t I see the same status or files when I switch kits?
Each iMemories by Ancestry kit is tracked and managed separately. Different kits may be at different stages, and will have different quotes, tracking information, or digitized files available.
Why can’t I see another person’s kit when I switch kits?
The kit selector only shows iMemories by Ancestry kits purchased on the account you’re signed in to. Kits purchased by other accounts won’t appear, even if you share tree or DNA access with that person.
Can I switch to or manage someone else’s iMemories by Ancestry kit?
Not at this time. iMemories by Ancestry kits can currently only be viewed and managed from the Ancestry account that purchased them.
Can I share my iMemories by Ancestry kit or digitized files with someone else?
Access to the iMemories by Ancestry kit itself, including its status, quote, and digitized files, is limited to the purchasing account.
However, after they’re processed, you can share digitized files by linking and tagging people in your tree and then sharing them as you would any other tree media.
Can I move iMemories by Ancestry kits between accounts?
Not at this time.
I can’t find my iMemories by Ancestry kit. What should I do?
Make sure you’re signed in to the Ancestry account that purchased the kit. Only the purchasing account can view the kit, switch to it, and access its status, quote, and digitized files.
If someone else purchased a kit and had it shipped to your address, the kit and any digitized files will be associated with the Ancestry account that purchased it.
Another common reason a kit may not appear is having more than one Ancestry account. If you’ve accessed your iMemories by Ancestry kit before but can’t find it now, try signing out and signing in with a different email or username. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it.
