If you used PayPal to make a purchase, we might ask for your PayPal billing ID (also called the PayPal ID or billing agreement ID—BAID) when helping you with a cancellation or refund.

PayPal billing agreement IDs typically start with "B-" and are followed by letters and numbers, like "B-1A2B3C4D." If yours appears different, confirm that you're providing the billing ID, not the invoice or transaction ID, by following the steps below.

 

Finding the PayPal billing ID

From a desktop browser

  1. Log in to PayPal. If prompted, enter the security code from your authenticator app.
  2. In the top right corner, click the gear icon.
  3. Click PAYMENTS.
  4. Click Manage automatic payments.
  5. In the panel on the left, click Ancestry. If you don’t see Ancestry, click Show Inactive and See more.
  6. Share the Billing ID with us.

 

From a mobile browser

  1. Log in to PayPal. If prompted, enter the security code from your authenticator app.
  2. Tap the menu icon (top left).
  3. Tap the gear icon in the top right of the menu bar.
  4. Above Profile, swipe across and tap Payments.
  5. Tap Manage automatic payments.
  6. Select Ancestry, and scroll down to Billing details.
  7. Share the Billing ID with us.

 

From the PayPal app

  1. Open the PayPal app and log in. If prompted, enter the security code from your authenticator app.
  2. Tap Wallet (bottom right).
  3. Scroll down and tap Automatic payments.
  4. Tap Ancestry.
  5. Scroll down to the Billing details section.
  6. Share the Billing ID with us.
