Eligibility and availability

Currently, Ancestry gift cards are exclusive to the United States. Please keep the following geographical restrictions in mind before purchasing:

Availability: Gift cards can only be purchased within the U.S. market.
Redemption: A card can only be redeemed by residents of the U.S.

Gift card features

Flexible Discovery: Gift cards are redeemable for goods and services directly on ancestry.com. This means your recipient can use their balance toward exploring historical records with a membership or uncovering their genetic origins with an AncestryDNA kit. A secondary payment method is required for renewing memberships and for purchases where the Gift Card does not cover the total amount of purchase.
No Expiration: The journey of family history takes time, and so does our gift card. The funds do not expire, allowing your loved one to start their discovery whenever they are ready.

Important rules and safeguarding

To ensure a secure and smooth experience, please note the following policies regarding your Ancestry gift card:

Safeguard like cash: Treat your gift card exactly like cash. The issuer is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen cards, or for any unauthorized use.
Non-reloadable: Cards cannot be reloaded with additional funds once purchased.
Non-transferable: The card cannot be resold, transferred for value, refunded, or redeemed for cash, except where required by law.

Gift card features

Refundable credit: In the event of a qualifying cancellation (such as an AncestryDNA kit return or subscription cancellation), you can expect a refund to your gift card wallet if it was used for the original purchase. Standard cancellation and return policies apply.
Use multiple gift cards: You can redeem multiple gift cards on a single Ancestry account to help fund your discovery journey.
Use gift cards multiple times: Available credit can be used multiple times across Ancestry.com products and services up to the full value of your gift card.
