Open a tree and tap a person to add a relative for them. To delete someone, go to their profile page and tap the three dots in the corner. Deleting someone is permanent and can't be undone.

 

Adding

  1. Open a tree in the Ancestry app.
  2. Tap a person in your tree.
  3. Tap Add Relative.
  4. Select a relationship (parent, spouse, son, daughter, or sibling) from the options that appear. This should reflect the relationship of the person you’re adding to the person you tapped, not their relationship to you.
  5. On the page that appears, enter information about the person you’re adding and tap Next or Add.
  6. If the person you're adding has children who are already in the tree, select the children and tap Save

 

Editing

  1. Open a tree in the Ancestry app.
  2. Tap the person in your tree you want to edit and select Edit person. If you need help finding someone, see Finding People in Your Tree in the Ancestry App.
  3. Edit facts like name, gender, birth, and profile photo. If you want to add death information but you don’t see the fields, change the person’s living status by toggling the This person is living switch from green to blank.
  4. Tap Save.
  5. To edit additional information such as facts, sources, photo gallery, and notes: From the tree, select a person and tap View Profile. Select the section you'd like to change, and tap Edit.

 

Deleting

  1. Open a tree in the Ancestry app.
  2. Tap the person in your tree you want to delete and select View Profile. If you need help finding someone, see Finding People in Your Tree in the Ancestry App.
  3. In the top-right corner, tap the three dots and select Delete Person.
  4. Tap Delete Person.
